Must-See Dallas Property — The ‘Gem of Kessler Park’ Just Hit the Market
Step Inside the Enduring Example of Tudor Revival Architecture
By Caitlin Clark //
It would be easy to write off a real estate listing that claims a home is “the gem” of any Dallas neighborhood. But just a few quick glimpses of 1214 Belleau Drive are enough to convince us that the property is a standout, even in the storied architectural wonderland that is Kessler Park.
A perfect blend of modern aesthetics and historic bones, the house is an enduring example of America’s 1920s-era spin on the classic Tudor, with lush surroundings that complement its architectural grandeur. The gable roofs are steeply pitched and topped with a whimsical chimney. The façade’s original half-timbering decorating evokes a different era. Even the (many) front steps have history—at least they’re suspected to. (The aforementioned real estate listing purports the sandstone stairs may have been sourced from the Baker Hotel, a once-grand downtown Dallas haunt built in 1925 — the same year as 1214 Belleau Drive.)
Of course, curb appeal can only get you so far. When it comes to proper preservation, it’s what’s on the inside that really counts (to home buyers anyway).

1214 Belleau has that covered. A welcoming, wedding cake chandelier and gleaming herringbone wood floors greet you in the foyer. Arched doorways and crown moldings guide you throughout the home’s 3,000 square feet. A window-lined formal living features an elegant (and highly valuable) Rookwood tile fireplace, while an original cast iron tub remains in an upstairs bathroom. Modern touches include high-end Thermador appliances in the kitchen and a frameless marble shower surrounded by radiant heat flooring.
On the market for less than a week, the “gem of Kessler Park” likely won’t last long—particularly in 2022. To schedule a tour, contact Patty Brooks with Dave Perry-Miller. Or for a slightly more passive perusal, feel free to scroll through our slideshow below.
