A Foodie’s Treat

What: State of Grace Turns Two
Where: State of Grace
PC Moment: River Oaks restaurant State of Grace nixed the curse of the terrible twos and celebrated its second birthday with a fun-filled bash.
More than 150 party goers flocked to the upscale restaurant to engage in the evening’s festivities, which included watching six of Houston’s top chefs compete in an intense and joyful oyster-shucking competition. Executive chef Bobby Matos called on some of his chef peers to participate in the fun. Local reggae band Indiginis set the mood with lively tunes while guests dined on all you can eat oysters and an assortment of other treats and desserts prepared by State of Grace toques.
Following the action-packed anniversary bash, baseball fans donned their best head to toe Houston Astros gear and anxiously awaited the start of Game 5 of the World Series. Some attendees even embraced the Halloween spirit by wearing costumes.
State of Grace held a silent auction full of exciting (and World Series-appropriate) Houston sports memorabilia and contributed a portion of anniversary party’s proceeds to the Houston Food Bank’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
