Houston Barbecue Staple Heads to The Woodlands
and Brings a Big Tex-Mex Surprise:
By Jailyn Marcel //
While a plethora of restaurants race to open their doors in Houston’s inner loop, a storied culinary institution is taking its talents North for two brand new dining concepts. Goode Company heads to the Woodlands with a duo of restaurant openings this month — Goode Company Barbecue and Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina.
This marks the fourth iteration of the brand’s original Goode Company Barbecue. The new spot opened this week at 8865 Six Pines Drive. Woodlands residents will be able to indulge in everything from Goode Company’s signature Czech-style sausage, pork ribs, and beef brisket to jalapeño cheese bread and pecan pie.
New sides such as white cheddar mac & cheese, smoked duck collard greens, deviled eggs and pimento cheese will also appear on the menu alongside sweet treats, including handspun milkshakes and floats.
But Goode Company Barbecue won’t be the only main attraction. The popular barbecue joint will share a 14,000 square-foot space with the first-ever Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina, which will channel the Goode family’s Mexican roots.
Brace yourself for Tex-Mex classics including Goode Company’s famous mesquite-grilled fajitas and damn Goode margaritas.
The Gin Braverman-designed space touts Texas farmhouse charm, showcasing chicken feeders as light fixtures; reclaimed wood tables; and old signs and drink boxes from the Goode’s family collection. One hundred and fifty-six dining room seats paired with a 36-seat private room provide ample space for guests.
Goode Company Barbecue and Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina also share a sprawling, 2,200 square-foot patio, which will house a bevy of games, making it the perfect interactive destination for outdoor drinks and relaxation.
Goode Company Kitchen & Cantina is slated to open later this month.
