What: The Alley Theatre‘s SCENE Opening Act Party, “Shine Among the Stars”
Where: The Alley Theatre
PC Moment: Could a clutch of young professionals have any more fun than those rocking the season launch of the Alley? More than 300 joined the party that featured interstellar decor from Richard Flowers and The Events Company, beats from DJ Senega, passed hors d’oeuvres from City Kitchen and open bars. And in a nod to the starry night theme, a number of guests enjoyed a Battlestar Galactica fashion vibe.
This was not your low-budget YP night and in the end it raised $150,000 for the Alley.
Highlight for the gents, and of course a few ladies, was the cigar and scotch station on the patio where nighttime views of the city skyline added another layer to the glittering night. The open bars with specialty cocktails flowing were a hit but nothing beat SCENE’s traditional shot block, this year designed as a giant rocket ship.
Providing substance to the otherwise rollicking scene was Alley theatre artistic associate Brandon Weinbrenner, who welcomed guests with an introduction to the season via a sonnet performed by Resident Company Actors Jay Sullivan and Dylan Godwin.
Who: Chairs Lauren and Trey McDonald, Katherine and Dillon Wilcox, Hilary Swallen, Holly Olsen, Sarah and Oscar Brown, Kathleen and Scotty Reynolds, Julio Hernandez, Marnie Greenwood, William Finnorn, Sebastien Chain and Joel Glover.
