PC Moment: In the name of flower power, 50 Dallas Museum of Art League committee members gathered to celebrate the kickoff of this year’s annual Art in Bloom fundraiser, set for Monday, March 26.
Post-hors d’oeuvres and bubbles, chair Dyann Skelton revealed the event will feature speaker Michael De Feo, a New York City-based contemporary artist who’s previously collaborated with Neiman Marcus, Christian Louboutin, La Mer, and J.Crew.
Known as the Flower Guy within the street-art movement for his powerful images of blooms seen around the world, De Feo has shown his work in The New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York; the Museo de Arte, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Manifesta 7 in Trento, Italy; The Garage in Amsterdam; and Rice Gallery in Houston.
For this year’s Art in Bloom, De Feo donated two framed original works: Untitled (Doutzen Kroes by Duy Yo for Vogue Nederland, April 2016), 2016, for the live auction, and Untitled (Rosamund Pike by Masha Mel for L’Officiel, No. 1013, April, 2017), 2017, as a raffle prize.
