PC Moment: Guest speaker Lauren Marks, author of A Stitch in Time, shared her story of an aneurysm that ruptured her brain in 2007 and caused aphasia, the inability to understand or express speech caused by brain damage. The book chronicles her first challenging year of relearning language and rebuilding her brain.
Applause, applause for chairs Ann and Michael Wilde and honorary chairs Ann and Bill Wilde, who led the fundraiser to a $260,000 success. Proceeds benefit the Houston Aphasia Recovery Center, which is the only non-profit therapeutic center for individuals with aphasia in the region.
