Chefs for Paws is a dinner that sticks up for animals who cannot stick up for themselves.

Join us for dinner, along with some of the highest-profile chefs in Houston, to celebrate a pet cause that’s dear to us all: saving thousands of dogs and cats — perfect purebreds and smart-as-a-whip mixed-breeds alike — who, through no fault of their own, have found themselves languishing in Houston’s city shelter, BARC. Thanks to the efforts of Rescued Pets Movement, more than 27,000 lives have been saved in just over four years. RPM, a 501(c)(3), organizes temporary rescue foster parents in Houston, who give these grateful pets lots of TLC for a few days to a few weeks before they’re transported north to their forever homes.
But all of this takes money — and lots of it. On Sunday, June 3, at 5 pm, chef Claire Smith of Canopy surrenders her space for Chefs for Paws, a multi-course seated dinner, with all proceeds benefitting these sweet, deserving animals. Joining her in the kitchen are talented toques Kevin Naderi (Roost), Sharon Gofreed (State of Grace), Ben McPherson (BOH Pasta), Dominick Lee (Poitin), Vanessa Lee (Chapman & Kirby), Benjamin Alexander (Tea & Victory), Gretchen Todd (Juice Girl), Jonathan Levine (Jonathan’s The Rub), and Josh Torres (A La Carte Catering).
Wine and cocktails will be provided by Deep Eddy Vodka, Reserve 101, and several local distributors. The evening will also include a silent auction and raffle.
Reserve your spot for $150 a person at chefsforpaws.com. But hurry: Only 150 tickets are available, and they’re going fast. Help the cause even more by purchasing five raffle tickets for $20.
