What: The eighth annual “Giving Goes Glam” fashion show and luncheon
Where: The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center
PC Moment: It was a fashionable and packed house as more than 730 guests swanned through the grand setting, which was adorned with beautiful geodes on loan from the Houston Museum of Natural Science, a balloon arc in lavender and purple geode shades, and colorful centerpieces compliments of Piney Rose Floral. Applause, applause for luncheon chairs Nicole Murphy and Emily Wilcox and advisors Missy Herndon, Jennifer Colerick, Carolyn Donovan and Katie Schonert for the popular event that raised more than $315,000 for the Junior League of The Woodlands and for Interfaith of The Woodlands.
“Our organizations are dedicated to serving and building our community,” noted Missy Herndon, Interfaith of The Woodlands president and CEO. “We stand here representing a combined 80 years of service to our community, millions of volunteer hours and thousands of lives impacted by the many programs, services and leadership of great organizations.”
The luncheon spotlighted the six 2019 “Giving Goes Glam” community model honorees, who were recognized for their long-standing commitment to community service throughout South Montgomery County. Congratulations to Perisha Burnham, Stacey Fontenot, Bobbi Jo Miller, Tyler Tillman, Amy Torres and Debra F. Sukin, CEO of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital and regional senior vice president, Houston Methodist.
Saks Fifth Avenue then enticed the fashionistas in the house with a sumptuous presentation of spring looks, everything from play clothes to formal wear.
But this party didn’t end with the luncheon. The camaraderie continued on at the new Como Social Club in The Westin at The Woodlands. This traditional after-party was, as usual, a sellout with ladies continuing the #giveglamorously energy well into the afternoon.
PC Seen: Junior League of The Woodlands president Jennifer Colerick, emcee Logan Lester (Miss Texas USA 2018), Laura Everson, Katrina Savage, Christin Allphin, Sondra Rhyuman, Alison Henderson, Nicole Murphy, Catie Fuller and Amy Beth Talley.
