What: The Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee
Where: White Oak Music Hall
PC Moment: The spelling panel Lisa Malosky, Linda Marshall, Ruben Dominguez and Amy Johnston did their best to stump the teams that entered in the 25th annual fundraiser for the Houston Center for Literacy. When all the i’s were dotted and t’s crossed, the Center Coast Capital team of Joe Herman and Boran Buturovic proved to be the best spellers in the lot. Under the leadership of chair Mark Sullivan and honorary chairs Brigid and John Fitzpatrick, the event, attended by 200, raised $125,000 for literacy programs.
