Lynn Wyatt Gets a Day Named After Her in Lively Houston Luncheon Powered by Local TV News Stars
Downtown Rotary Club Honors a Non-Member With Prestigious Award for the First Time

Where: Ballroom at Bayou Place
PC Moment: With KHOU Channel 11 news anchor Mia Gradney and chief meteorologist David Paul as emcees this simply had to be a lively luncheon and so it was with the ever-glamorous Lynn Wyatt as honoree. Highlight was presentation of a City Proclamation declaring it Lynn Wyatt Day in Houston as well as the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Wyatt was the first non-Rotary member to be honored with the prestigious award. She was recognized for her citywide philanthropic efforts and leadership.
Luncheon chairs Shelly deZevallos and Jana L. Phillips joined Rotary president Brice Cambas and founding charter president Rick Slemaker in presenting the awards.

The festivities included live and silent auctions and a Lenny Matuszewski-produced fashion show of styles from Elizabeth Anthony and M Penner. Rotary members walking the runway in the au courant fashions included Miranda Sevcik, Kristi Koncaba, Kenny Koncaba, Jeff Horner and Merita O’Krinsky.
In the live auction, Shayna Andrews was the generous bidder who went home with a Vincent Peach Design custom gold and diamond bracelet, contributed to the auction by Cindy Lewis of Lewis Jewelers. All three of the participating merchants are located in Uptown Park. Funds raised will support the Downtown Rotary Club of Houston’s community programs.
