Oscar Favorite Completely Charms a Dallas Crowd in an Event That Proves the Real Power of Ladies Who Lunch

What: Seventh annual Milestones Luncheon benefitting the Junior League of Dallas
Where: The Hilton Anatole’s Chantilly Ballroom
PC Moment: Putting in over 100,000 hours in volunteer service to local nonprofits each year, members of the Junior League of Dallas are famously unafraid to roll up their sleeves. So, the speaker at the organization’s much-anticipated Milestones Luncheon – which helps raise the $1 million granted annually to those same nonprofits – couldn’t have been a better fit.
Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer (who picked up her third Oscar nomination Tuesday) may have Southern charm for days, but her serious acting chops and ever-growing list of accolades prove she is not to be underestimated, on-screen or off.
CJLD president Jennifer Tobin and sustainer president Ginger Sager took the stage to honor another highly impressive individual, Linda Perryman Evans, as the JLD’s Sustainer of the Year. Thanks to powerful women like these, “ladies who lunch” takes on an entirely new meaning.
