Houston’s Chicest Boutique?
High-End Fashion Bargains Make This Salvation Army Benefit One of the Year’s Best
By Sharon L. Taylor //
The theme of this year’s Reflections of Style Chic Boutique, Runway Show and Luncheon may be “Fashion and Flowers,” but it’s a safe bet that all eyes will be on the fashion: gently used or new designer clothing, purses, shoes, jewelry, furs and ball gowns donated by prominent women in the community. Ginger Blanton chairs the eagerly anticipated annual event, with Chic Boutique co-chairs Maureen Higdon and Pam Sengelmann; Jane Wise is this year’s honoree. Donated fashions — think Valentino, Armani, Escada, Chanel and more — will be displayed on the runway and sold in the Chic Boutique, with all proceeds benefitting The Salvation Army of Greater Houston.

But the fun doesn’t stop on April 12. For post-event shopping opportunities, head to the Women’s Auxiliary’s Chic Boutique Showroom Wednesday through Saturday, April 13 through 16, at Westcott and Washington. Amanda Gelb, Deborah Dunkum and Kathy Lee co-chair the Showroom this year, and for a $20 donation at the door you can attend the First Chance Evening Shop Party Wednesday, April 13, 5 to 8 pm. (Busy that weekend? Then mark your calendar for Saturday, April 23, for “Last Chance” shopping.) Again, all proceeds benefit The Salvation Army of Greater Houston.
