The Ultimate Fantasy Football Draft Brings Out Texans Cheerleaders, TV News Stars and Celebrity Coaches

What: Boys & Girls Harbor fifth annual “Fantasy Football Draft Night”
Where: Club Level of NRG Stadium
PC Moment: Jubilant Houston Texans cheerleaders, celebrity coaches led by Fred Newhouse and KPRC Channel 2 sports anchor Randy McIlvoy delivered on team spirit while chairs Diane Englet and Vicki and Bill Lehner and honorary chair Darayus Pardivala provided the leadership for the football-infused evening. The party was delayed due to the Harvey floods but the rescheduling did little to dampen gridiron spirits.
With football jerseys and game day attire de rigueur, the crowd was ready to play fantasy football.They were assisted in their efforts by more than 100 volunteers who guided fans through the fantasy ropes of team building. At night’s end, the big winner received two tickets to the 2018 Super Bowl in Minneapolis.
Adding to the bottom line were the efforts of auction chairs Karen DeGeurin and DeeDee and Clay Rawlings, who assembled a cache of autographed sports memorabilia, big board items, a wine pull and live auction.
Since its launch, the fundraiser has brought in more than $1 million for the non-profit that provides comprehensive residential care for children, aged 5 to 18, who are victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment or family hardship.
