Star Doctor Wows a Sellout Crowd on World AIDS Day

PC Moment: Alessandro Grattoni, Ph.D. recipient of the Shelby Hodge Vision Award, wowed the sellout crowd with remarks on Houston Methodist’s Department of Nanomedicine‘s research on refillable implants that carry HIV prevention medications ,while keynote speaker activist Sean Strub issued a forceful call to end criminalization and the stigma of AIDS. Mayor Sylvester Turner was among those who echoed the organization’s mantra “Getting to Zero” — zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths and zero stigma.
Joining the program were luncheon chairs Bill Baldwin and Ernie Manouse and Joni Baird of Chevron, which has been signature underwriter of the luncheon for many years.
