Ashley Longshore, dubbed “the new queen of Pop Art” in PaperCity‘s own (digital) pages, will make an appearance at the 29° North store inside The Post Oak Hotel on Friday, October 5, from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The bold and brash New Orleans artist will be signing copies of her book, You Don’t Look Fat, You Look Crazy, the wild autobiographical tome that irreverently channels her rise from aspiring artist to mogul – a transition that is now officially complete, as her appearance also doubles as a showcase for her recent collaboration with high-end watch customizer Titan Black on a collection of show-stopping Rolex watches.
The Titan Black Ashley Longshore collection Rolexes will be available at the hotel boutique for a limited amount of time.
For those unfamiliar with Longshore, PaperCity‘s Catherine D. Anspon spoke to the buzzing Pop artist and entrepreneur (she dubs herself an “artpreneur”) on the heels of the debut of her home-furnishings collection at the perpetually chic Forty Five Ten in Dallas. This is what Longshore had to say then:
I’m so excited to be coming to Texas because I feel that there is no greater representation of the American dream than cities like Dallas and Houston. I feel that when other countries think about America they think about incredible stores, amazing restaurants, big fancy cars. And I think when you get to Houston and Dallas you see that’s so unavoidable and that’s why its so much fun to bring my work there.
