If you’re staying in Dallas for Independence Day this year and haven’t decided on your plans yet, do not fret, there is much to do.
This week’s Things to Do in Dallas list is completely focused on holiday festivities, since it is the Fourth of July. PaperCity‘s new events calendar offers a curated look at all of the best things to do in the area, but we’ve narrowed things down to the most fun.
Here are Dallas’ top Fourth of July events:
Five on the 4th at Klyde Warren Park
This 4th of July, start your day off with a 5k, 5-mile run, or 2-mile walk. The family-friendly event has races for kids, as well as the option to bring your pup on the walk with you. There will also be face painting, balloon artists, and music.
Proceeds benefit the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The 5-mile race beings at 8 am. Register here.

Fourth of July Weekend at Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum has a whole day full of festivities for the Fourth. At 10:30 am, there will be a Window to the Wild bird show, which is free with paid garden admission. Then, from 11 am to noon, Emporium Pies will be doing a Cherry Pie Demo. From 2 pm to 4 pm, the Rushmore Band will be playing on the lawn. And 3 Nations Brewery will be handing out free beer samples from noon to 3 pm.

Addison Kaboom Town
On July 3, Addison is having its annual Kaboom Town fireworks show. Ranked as one of the top 10 fireworks displays in the country, free admission includes live music, the Addison Airport airshow, fireworks, and an after party with Emerald City on the main stage.

Arlington 4th of July Parade
Head over to Arlington for the annual 4th of July parade. The oldest event in Arlington, the parade begins in downtown at 9 am and ends at 11 am. This year’s Grand Marshals are Allan Saxe and Ruthie Brock, Arlington residents and philanthropists. The parade includes floats, antique cars, marching bands, unicyclists, and more. The route starts at West and Mitchell streets.

Fair Park Fourth
On July 4th in Fair Park, this free Fair Park Fourth event will feature patriotic music, a fireworks show at 9:30 pm, and concession offerings like beer and wine. During the event, you can also enjoy rides and games at The State Fair of Texas Midway, which will open at noon.
Tickets are available at the entrance for $8. At 3 pm, other attractions will open throughout the grounds like water inflatables, games, and arts and crafts for the whole family.

Independence Day Pool Party
The Texas Pool in Plano is hosting a pool party from noon to 6 pm on Thursday. There will be food and pool games, including authentic Texas Pool Hot Dogs. Tickets are $10 per a person while Texas Pool Members admission is free. It’s also BYOB for non-alcoholic drinks.
Happy Goat Yoga at Dallas Farmers Market
On the Fourth, the Dallas Farmers Market is hosting goat yoga: The Star Spangled Goats edition. Alpacas will also be present. The event includes an hour of goat yoga under the shed. During the second hour, you can play with the goats and alpacas. There will also be prizes and giveaways. You must bring your own yoga mat and the event begins at 9 am. Tickets are available here.

Fourth of July Rooftop Party at Harlowe MXM
Deep Ellum rooftop bar, Harlowe MXM, is hosting a party on Thursday from 11 am to 2 am. Special Red, White, and Blue Frozen Mules will be available, as well as jello shots and brats. Freebroke will be performing and the rooftop offers stellar views of then fireworks at Fair Park at 9:30 pm.

Old Fashioned Fourth at Dallas Heritage Village
This old fashioned event starts at 10 am on the Fourth. For $5, guests can explore the village, bring a picnic basket and dine, and be a part of the parade at 12 pm. You’re encouraged to wear red, white and blue and chat with costumed characters.
There’s also a craft station that you can decorate wagons or tricycles. Carnival style games and donkeys will also be in attendance. Also, bring the kiddos under 12 for free.

Red, White and Boots at the Stockyards
Venture over to Fort Worth this Thursday to celebrate Independence Day at the Stockyards. The celebration runs from July 4 to July 7 and has live music, longhorn cattle drives, gunfight reenactments, food trucks and a beer garden. Trucks on July 4 include Melt Ice Cream and The Butcher’s Son. There will also be games like corn hole, local artisans and exhibitors for a whole day of fun.
