Dallas Shopping Center to Undergo a Major Renovation
Highly-Anticipated New Restaurant Part of the Plan
By Natalie Gempel //
Lakeside’s Hillside Village shopping center is getting a major facelift this year, with a five-phase renovation and the addition of four new retail tenants. The upcoming retail spaces include popular workout studio Session Pilates, Villa Nail Spa, The Little Things and Hillside Tavern.
Hillside Tavern is a new dining concept from Nathan Tate and brothers Brooks and Bradley Anderson, the owners of Rapscallion, Boulevardier, and Veritas Wine Room. Further details about Hillside Tavern are yet to come, but you can expect a similar vibe to the Anderson’s other upscale-casual restaurants (stay tuned for updates).
The new shops will extend the Northeast Dallas area shopping center, which has stood at Abrams Road and Mockingbird Lane since 1954, by 9,580-square-feet. Hillside Village already has a range of dining and retail establishments, including White Rock Coffee, Olivella’s Neo Pizza Napoletana, Dream Cafe, Manny’s Lakewood Tex-Mex, Stein Mart, Tuesday Morning, We Yogis, Pinot’s Palette and more.
In addition to the four new tenants, the redevelopment of Hillside Village will include an update to the exterior and a new parking lot and sidewalk system. Modern design elements, including new wood canopy soffits, steel facade elements, and refinished plaster facades will be incorporated, and dated decor and lighting elements will be ditched.
The shopping center, which is owned and managed by Northwood Retail, will remain open to the public throughout the renovation process.
