Houston Fashion Favorite Lyndsey Zorich Designs a New Line For Dallas’ Saint Bernard, Creating a Union of Two of Texas’ Hottest Brands

Zorich Reveals More In This Exclusive PaperCity Interview

By //

Houston-based Lyndsey Zorich of Mason’s Daughter and The Avenue is expanding her design reach with the reveal Thursday that she is launching a soon-to-be coveted lifestyle line of women’s fashions for Saint Bernard. Zorich is discussing her partnership with the Dallas-based luxury retailer and the creation of the new Love Note by Lindsey Zorich collection exclusively with PaperCity.

After first dipping her toes into commerce as a lifestyle and fashion blogger in the mid-2000s, Zorich has carved a niche in fashion design that finds her lovable casual designs favored by 73,300 Instagram fans, and offered in 30 Dillard’s specialty stores nationwide as well as in her own River Oaks shop and online.

Talking to PaperCity via Zoom from her home state of Ohio where she was vacationing, Lyndsey Zorich shared the story behind the partnership with the family-owned luxury ski and outdoor apparel retailer which has stores in Houston, Dallas and across Texas.  (A side note: It was revealed last week that Saint Bernard will be opening a new boutique in Atlanta’s posh Buckhead area, expanding its footprint beyond the Lone Star State.)

Little more than a year ago, Zorich found herself on a Zoom call that included Ashley Goyer, the wife the Saint Bernard CEO Charlie Goyer. Very complimentary of Zorich’s Mason’s Daughter clothing line, Boyer expressed her desire to see the line in Saint Bernard stores. But with a different angle.

“They really wanted to have a contemporary women’s private label collection of their own and she just she liked everything she saw with Mason’s daughter,” Zorich says.  “She’s like, ‘Obviously, we don’t want to be Mason’s Daughter. But I feel like your designs really work for our customers. And we feel like there’s something missing in the marketplace like this.

“We want to do this ourselves, but we want to put our own spin on it.’ “

Thus the wheels were put in motion that led to this new line’s launch. “I worked with their buyers extensively on what they were missing, what they’re not finding at market. And so we started to develop this collection together,” Zorich says.

What sets Zorich’s now two design entities apart?

“When you see the two lines kind of woven together, they have a totally different vibe,” Zorich tells PaperCity.I think the Saint Bernard Love Note girl is a little more casual. She’s whimsical. She’s not taking herself too seriously. She wants to dress for specific occasions. So we’re we’re rolling out with the Game Day edit.”

The Fall Fun To Come

Zorich has three drops for Saint Bernard. The first is Game Day, which dropped today. Then there will be two new additions that embrace fall.

“We’ve found the perfect Pantones for Longhorn Burnt Orange and Aggie Maroon,” Zorich says of the Game Day drop. “And we’re weaving in easy wearable carpool tops that you could obviously wear for game day, but work for the everyday Saint Bernard girl that needs to fill that fashion void in her life.”

Fans can look forward to future releases focusing on knits and fringe for fall.

“I’m really excited about the knits that we’re working on,” Zorich says. “We’ve got some really cool fringe pieces that I feel like could take somebody to the ranch and then onto the Rodeo. I think they feel cohesive in and of themselves, but they both would be something that I would wear.”

This new partnership has plenty of thought behind it. Zorich presented some 100 designs for consideration to Saint Bernard for a spring collection.

It’s a high point in this Houston fashion force’s ascending career.

“At Saint Bernard working with Ashley and Charlie, I just feel super lucky to be surrounded by these incredibly hardworking and super impressive humans that are doing great things in the fashion world,” Zorich says. And so, I feel like I’m finding my stride too. Just getting to do that both with Mason’s daughter and Love Note.”
