Dallas Boutique Lands Exclusive Deal to Carry Iconic Designer’s Furniture
By Rebecca Sherman //
Gallerie Noir, the avant-garde art gallery and home-design boutique on Dragon Street, has won the exclusive rights in Dallas to carry AVF furniture — the 20-piece neon-hued acrylic collection from Alexandra von Furstenberg, former daughter-in-law of fashion empress Diane von Furstenberg. AVF furniture joins Gallerie Noir’s burgeoning selection of AVF bold acrylic accessories — colorful trays, games, vases, bowls. To celebrate, von Furstenberg is making a rare public appearance at the gallery on Tuesday, October 27.
“It was special to be able to get her here and to have her sign her furniture,” says Gallerie Noir owner Melissa Enriquez.” She’s never signed her pieces before — but she said she wanted to come and see what Dallas is doing.”
Enriquez believes that von Furstenberg’s work perfectly suits the gallery. “I look at her as another artist,” she says. “Her furniture is a work of art … One piece livens up an entire room. It makes even a traditional space feel contemporary.”
