Hermès Introduces the Voyage en Ikat Porcelain Collection
By Anne Lee Phillips //
Ikat, a complex woven pattern of dyed textiles with a storied history in both Eastern and Western cultures, has long been associated with wealth and prosperity. Celebrating the pattern’s global appeal, Hermès introduces the Voyage en Ikat porcelain collection. Decorated by Hermès craftsmen in Limoges, France, more than 20 hues of lush jewel tones (sapphire, ruby and emerald) and 24K matte gold overlap in intricate designs. Plates, platters and bowls on elevated bases stack to evoke a lotus flower and transform into a classic French dinner service when paired with the tall cup and saucer, soup tureen and vase.
