What: The Council on Recovery Fall Waggoners Foundation Speaker Series

Where: Hilton Americas-Houston

PC Moment: Twenty-seven years sober, actor Rob Lowe (a devoted Dodgers fan) held the audience of 1,200 in rapt attention as he told his story of addiction and recovery. The 53-year-old summed up his story saying, “Life is full of those moments that we get ourselves into and we get ourselves out of and at the end of the day, the memories we make are the things that matter.”

Chaired by Patricia and George Joseph and Brad Sears, the luncheon raised close to $520,000 for The Council programs which help individuals and families affected by alcoholism, drug abuse, addiction and related mental health disorders. The luncheon was presented by the Wayne Duddlesten Foundation.
