What: Project 88’s Game Day Gala
Where: Ecclesia
PC Moment: The fourth annual dinner event enjoyed a rich turnout of Houston Texans, both past and present. Leading the pack were Project 88 founders Ericka and Garrett Graham (No. 88 when playing for the Texans) along with founding Game Day Gala chairs Hannah and Cal McNair, Texans’ vice chairman and COO. Also taking leadership roles as chairs of the host committee were Megan and Brian Cushing and Amanda and Jon Weeks.
Friday the Thirteenth turned out to be a good thing for organizers as the evening nudged close to $300,000 for Project 88 which supports Advise TX college advisors in Houston public schools and supports summer success programs for underserved students. Testimonials from one of these advisors and one of the students powerfully brought home the message of the program’s importance.
Chester Pitts and Chita Craft served as emcees, Monarch Hospitality provided the dinner and DJ Kenny Klips spun the discs for dancing enthusiasts. It was all casual fun as guest dressed in jeans and jerseys. Note: We saw almost as many Astros jerseys as Houston Texans jerseys.
Who: Holly and Austin Alvis, Sara Beth and Pierce Bush, Brad Marks, Caroline and Kevin Walters, Lane Craft, Jackie and Jon Hodges, Katherine and Jonathon Lusk, Kristina and Paul Somerville, Tori and Ed Decora, Amy Cole, Hallie Vanderhider, Judy Le and Don Tom, and Natalie Reed.
