What: First Night & First Sight of The Dallas Opera‘s 60th season

Where: The Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House

PC Moment: It was an effervescent weekend of friends, fashionistas, and all-around lovers of art celebrating the beginning of The Dallas Opera’s 60th season. The two-day fête began Thursday, with a luncheon and fashion show presented by Versace at NorthPark Center. Moved by the fabulous presentation, several patrons stopped by the Versace pop-up shop to pick out a new handbag. A surprise performance by one of the Moby-Dick cast members, Andrew Bidlack, and pianist Christopher Devlin was a charming addition to the operatic ambiance.

Friday’s “First Night” presented a dinner prepared by Wolfgang Puck, featuring a display of six intricate opera costumes from seasons past. After a stunning performance of Eugene Onegin, guests were led into a tent decorated to evoke 1957 glamour. Guests in tuxedos and designer gowns mixed and mingled with the cast of Eugene Onegin, enjoying late-night tastes of patty melts and French toast with bacon.
