In its 13th year, Young Texans Against Cancer (YTAC) pulled out all the stops for their annual BubblyQ. Held each year at Dean Fearing’s namesake restaurant within The Ritz-Carlton Dallas (save for 2020, of course), event chairs Nicole Craven and Alexis Smith corralled a lively crew of well-heeled attendees alongside buzzy Dallas restaurants and celebratory cocktails.
The evening kicked off on a Ritz Carlton patio before sunset as guests perused booths from some of our city’s most-loved restaurants. Featured among the favorites were dishes from Eataly, Beverley’s Bistro, Terry Blacks, new French Indian restaurant Âme, downtown’s recently revived Dakotas, tony Design District spot The Charles, and — naturally — Fearing’s. The bubbles and Rose Gold rose flowed while Jason Burt of Electrophunk scored the lively setting. Both a silent and live auction added a competitive edge to the night — all in good fun of course.
With so many top-notch vendors, BubblyQ has earned its reputation for showing guests a good time, but the event has always shown a lot of heart. Throughout the night, there were reminders of the mission: including a towering Hope Wall sponsored by Spring Creek Barbecue and The Carroll Family, in loving memory of Rebecca Carroll. Later, breast cancer survivor Lauren Behrmann took the stage to bravely share her story. The evening wrapped up with a live auction emceed by Alex Perry of Dallas Address (with a special appearance from Dean Fearing), contributing greatly to the total funds BubblyQ raised in 2021: over $250,000. We’ll cheers to that!
