Star Fashion Designer Swoops Into Dallas for Dinner With His Gal Pals
Wes Gordon is Starting to Become a Regular
By Christina Geyer //
The first time I met Wes Gordon was sometime in 2012. The young designer was in Dallas to show his recently launched namesake collection to a high-profile contingent of ladies during an evening trunk show and cocktail party with Neiman Marcus.
Being the youngest people in attendance, Gordon and I bonded immediately.
Cut to a perfect spring evening seven years later: Gordon was back in town for the first time since his last visit, but with a bigger title (he was dubbed creative director of Carolina Herrera in 2018) and an even larger following of stylish ladies.
Nasiba Adilova, Taylor Tomasi Hill, and Lisa Moore hosted the darling Gordon for a moveable evening that started with a champagne toast at Carolina Herrera’s Highland Park Village boutique, followed by an intimate, rose-hued dinner on the Moroccan-inspired patio at Park House.
Carolina Herrera president Emilie Rubinfeld and communications director Stephanie Castillo jetted in from New York for the occasion — and they brought with them a rather apropos gift for the girls in attendance.
On everyone’s seat was a little package: Inside each was a stylish turban made from textiles from Carolina Herrera’s collaboration with the archive of interior designer Rose Cumming.
Our cute new headbands were made from a rosy leopard-print fabric, which matched the evening’s romantic coral and pink rose-covered tablescape. We do love a matchy-matchy, high-fashion moment.
It won’t be long until we get to visit with Gordon again. He’ll be back in town this fall as the star of The Crystal Charity Ball’s Ten Best Dressed Women of Dallas Fashion Show & Luncheon. Carolina Herrera is the selected design house for this year’s megawatt charity event and runway spectacle set for Friday, September 13, at Neiman Marcus Downtown.
