Downtown Dallas’ Neiman Marcus Has Officially Closed, But Beloved Traditions Live On at NorthPark
What To Know About the Future of The Zodiac Room, the Holiday Buffet, the Bridal Salon, Santa, and More
By Melissa Smrekar //
On Wednesday, the flagship Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas permanently shuttered.
Ups and downs since early 2025 afforded us the opportunity to slowly and properly say goodbye. Last week, I indulged in one more Stanley’s Pot Roast alongside my girlfriends. For the final day, a bagpiper and Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” provided the soundtrack of the valediction. The flagship deserved every bit of that pomp and circumstance.
Now that it’s October, I am, of course, looking to the future and thinking about the holidays. What will happen to The Zodiac Room’s beloved holiday buffet? What’s the future of the bridal salon? Lastly, what’s Santa’s status?
Here’s what you need to know:

The Zodiac Room
NM Café, on the third floor of Neiman Marcus NorthPark, will be transformed into the new The Zodiac Room, which will open on November 20. You will recognize key design elements from the flagship Zodiac Room, including the turquoise walls, plush banquettes, and striking art. Breathe a sigh of relief; I’ve confirmed that your favorite dishes will appear on the menu, including the consommé, popovers with strawberry butter, Stanley’s Pot Roast, and the mandarin orange soufflé.
Your favorite tradition, the holiday buffet, will continue at NorthPark’s Zodiac Room from November 20 through January 2. Reservations are open now on OpenTable. Hop to it, Type As and sentimentalists!

The Bridal Salon, Santa, and More
- Relocated to the lower level at NorthPark, the Neiman Marcus Bridal Salon is expected to open in early December, “offering an intimate space for one of life’s most meaningful experiences.” Customers can make bridal appointments now by calling the store. A press release noted that the company “will continue to service existing brides with their alterations and fittings at the NorthPark store while the new space is under construction.”
- The flagship’s beloved Santa, Felix Estridge, will make the journey from the North Pole to NorthPark, bringing his festive cheer to Neiman Marcus NorthPark after Thanksgiving. He will, of course, be available for photos, lap chats, and Christmas wishes at Breakfast with Santa, Storytime with Santa, and Dine with Santa.
- Historic art pieces from the downtown store will be prominently featured throughout the Neiman Marcus portfolio, so customers around the U.S. can experience part of the brand’s storied history.

A statement from Neiman Marcus said, “As we close an important chapter in our history, we do so with immense gratitude for the generations of associates and customers who made our Downtown store so special. For more than a century, this store has held a cherished place in our history and in the lives of our customers, helping shape Neiman Marcus into the iconic luxury retailer it is today. The spirit of innovation, exceptional service, and deep customer relationships that defined our Downtown store will continue to guide us as we honor our rich heritage and embrace our bright future. Dallas remains an incredibly important market for the Neiman Marcus brand. We are excited to enhance our NorthPark store by infusing new elements that celebrate our storied history, continuing to evolve the experience where our customers prefer to shop.”
